Frank Steiger educational background:
B. Sc. degree in Chemistry, University of California at Berkeley, 1948
California Professional Chemical Engineer Registration, CH 2830, 1966
Associate in Arts degree, Saddleback College, Mission Viejo, 1986
Academic studies after graduation from Cal Berkeley:
The curricula leading to my degree in Chemistry did not include any engineering courses. It became apparent around 1956 that further progress in my career would require additional science courses and a knowledge of engineering that would enable me to pass the two-day examinations to become a California Registered Engineer.
I attended chemical engineering review and engineering fundamentals classes plus self-taught study on engineering statics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and mass transfer. I also took classes at Long Beach State in Soils/Foundations and Concrete Technology.
Scientific courses taken were: Instrumental Methods of Analysis, Infrared Spectroscopy, Astronomy, and Geology.
I also studied art, music, and foreign languages to earn my Associate in Arts degree.
